Strategic Knowledge Development: Navigating the Path to Professional Competence in Organizational Growth

Writer's picture: Craig S. ButlerCraig S. Butler

We all want to be knowledgeable about what is important to others, especially our peers and supervisors. For those who want to serve, we learn what we can with limited resources, prior to moving forward with our initiative and/or directives as given. Unknowingly, we can sometimes build our knowledge to the amateur level, ready to go about the tasks with trial and error. When this occurs, actions and the results can lead to unintentional sabotage or adverse outcomes. Sometimes those actions need(ed) to be contained, and planning is/was important from a holistic viewpoint. To move to the next level in creating professional competence, subject matter expert partners should be secured to help develop, mentor, demonstrate, and oversee projects to transfer the necessary knowledge.
